Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Reuse My Ceramic Vessel?

After burning your ceramic candle, you can reuse it by following the instructions below:

  • When 1/2" wax remains in the candle it has finished its burn life.
  • If the wax is hard, fill the vessel with boiling hot water and let sit for 5-10 hours.
  • The remaining wax will rise to the surface.
  • Scoop the wax out with a spoon and throw it into the trash.
  • Remove the candle wick & sticker from the bottom of the vessel.
  • Hand wash the vessel with warm water and soap to remove any leftover wax

Once complete, your ceramic vessel is ready to be reused as a snack dish, small planter or trinket bowl!

How Do I Get The Best Burn From My Candle?

Burning candles correctly can increase their lifespan! To ensure your candle burns at the highest quality follow the steps below:

  • When burning for the first time, make sure your candle burns long enough for the melted wax to cover the entire surface. This ensure an even burn and prevents tunneling (when the wick burns down but the wax remains hard around it, creating a hole)
  • Trim your candle wick before each burn. Using your fingers or a candle trimming tool, clip half of the burnt wick off before lighting the candle again. This will prevent the flame from becoming too large and burning too fast.

How Long Will My Candle Burn For?

This depends on the size of the candle vessel. Every candle made by Fleetwood is made with 100% soy wax. Soy wax is a, slow, clean-burning option that lasts up to 50% longer than traditional paraffin wax.

An 8 oz. soy wax candle burns for an average of 35-40 hours.

Candle Safety Information

BEFORE BURNING

  1. Trim the wick to ¼ inch each time before burning. Long or crooked wicks can cause uneven burning.
  2. Place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  3. Keep the wax pool clear of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.

WHILE BURNING

  1. Never touch or move a burning candle.
  2. Always keep the candle within your sight. If you are going to leave the room, be sure to first blow out all candles.
  3. Do not burn the candle longer than 4 hours at a time.

WHEN EXTINGUISHING

  1. Use a candle snuffer to extinguish a candle to prevent hot wax from splattering.
  2. Make sure the candle is completely extinguished before leaving the room.
  3. Don't touch the candle until it has completely cooled.
